Keywave Technology is a British semiconductor company headquartered in Brighton, United Kingdom, specialising in radar-based sensing and RF receiver solutions.

As a fabless company, Keywave develops its own semiconductor products without operating in-house chip manufacturing. The company combines antenna design, RF engineering, and integrated signal processing to deliver energy-efficient motion, presence, and positioning detection solutions.

Product Portfolio

Keywave’s portfolio includes sensor ICs, radar modules, broadband tuners, and evaluation hardware for integration into embedded and OEM systems. In addition, the company offers configuration and adaptation of its sensor solutions to meet specific application requirements.

  • Radar motion sensors – KW007 series: 5.8 GHz Doppler radar ICs and modules, including KW007S and KW007L variants, with adjustable motion detection for low-power embedded applications.

  • Radar presence sensors – KW307 series: 24 GHz radar SoCs and sensor modules for detecting both moving and stationary people, enabling presence and occupancy detection as well as distance and angle output.

  • RF receivers and SDR tuners – KW130: Broadband RF receiver ICs and tuners for software-defined radio, communication systems, and customised receiver applications.

  • Evaluation and development solutions: Evaluation modules and kits, reference hardware, and evaluation software for sensor integration.

  • Custom sensor solutions: Configuration and adaptation of sensor ICs and modules to individual system and application requirements.

Applications

Keywave products are used in smart home and building automation systems, intelligent lighting, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning controls, household appliances, and industrial sensing applications.

Typical use cases include touchless switches, motion and presence detection, occupancy-based energy management, and intelligent embedded devices. The RF tuner solutions further extend the portfolio into SDR, communications, and broadband reception systems.
