Nuvoton has developed a series of motor control microcontrollers with rich peripherals and control algorithms specially designed for brushless DC motors ( BLDC ) to increase motor operating efficiency, reduce energy consumption, ease the development effort, and to reduce manufacturing cost.
Based on years of experience in the microcontroller business, Nuvoton offers a new generation of 32-bit NuMicro® microcontrollers embedded with ARM® Cortex®-M0 core and peripherals for motor applications including: High Precision RC Oscillator, PWM , ADC , Comparator, Gate Driver, FOC ( Field Oriented Control ) , supports wide operating voltage from 2.5V to 5.5V , industrial temperature range from - 40 ℃ to 105 ℃ with high noise immunity.
The NuMicro® Motor Control microcontrollers includes the NM1800 series which embedded an up to 600V high voltage gate driver, the high performance NM1500 series with embedded CAN 2.0B, two ADC s, two OPAmps and FOC hardware; the multi-purpose NM1200 series which supports single-shunt current sampling; and the low pin count NM1100 series. The NuMicro® Motor Control microcontrollers are now under mass production and are ideal for electric vehicles, industrial control, fan drives, power tools, industrial automation, ESC, power, and motor control applications.
The HMI emWin MPUs is based on the ARM926EJ-S core. The series includes N9H20, N9H26 and N9H30 with CPUs operating at up to 200 MHz , 264 MHz and 300 MHz respectively. It uses Multi Chip Package ( MCP ) with SDRAM stacked, size ranging from 2 MB to 32 MB, which significantly reduces PCB size and electromagnetic interference ( EMI ) to minimize system design efforts and shorten the product design cycle time.
The N9H series BSP ( Board Support Package ) comes with licensed industrial leading emWin embedded GUI library, which contains emWin library, samples, tools and documents. Nuvoton licensed it from SEGGER to allow developers to create smooth, professional, high quality Human Machine Interfaces ( HMI ) quickly and efficiently on N9H series free of charge. In order to maximize the design flexibility for LCD based display applications, the N9H series also provides built-in 24-bit TFT RGB interface with resolution support up to 1024x768, 2D graphics accelerator, MJPG/ H.264 video decoder as well as resistive touch screen interface.
The N9H series also provides rich peripherals including 2 to 11 UART s, SPI , I²C , SDIO/ eMMC, NAND Flash, and USB 2.0 Host/Device. Under the N9H series, the N9H20 and N9H26 supports operating temperature from -20 ℃ to 85 ℃ , while the N9H30 further supports industrial standard temperature from - 40 ℃ to 85 ℃ . The N9H series is specially designed to best fit LCD display applications such as the HMI ( Human Machine Interface ) of home automation and industrial automation.
