MAS6251 is a combined piezo and LED driver IC in a small QFN-16 3x3x0.75 mm package. The heart of the IC is a high efficiency synchronous boost DC/DC converter requiring only a small 0806 sized 2.2μH inductor. The DC/DC converter offers regulated output which is adjustable up to 17.5V in a very wide supply voltage range from 1.2V to 5.5V.
The piezo driver has bridge-tied load (BTL) output stage which is capable of producing very high sound pressure level (SPL) audio by driving up to 35Vpp signal. The piezo driver is designed for three terminal self drive type piezoelectric transducers which produce very loud sound at resonance frequency of the piezo.
The LED driver supports use of pulse-width modulation (PWM) dimming control and is capable of driving up to 15mA current. The LED current is adjustable by external resistor. When not used the device enters shut down operating mode (typ 0.11μA) to save power.

MAS6240 Piezo Driver IC for Multi-Sound
MAS6240 is a piezo driver IC designed to create a multi-tone sound based on a charge pump technology. It is a high efficiency, easy to use and low cost IC perfect for battery driven equipment or other low voltage applications where a high sound pressure is needed.
MAS6240 can drive outputs up to 18 VP-P from single 3 V supply voltage. An input voltage amplification factor can be selected as 1, 2 or 3. The output can be single mode or differential mode.
The inductorless design causes significantly less disturbance to the surrounding circuits, making it an ideal choice Heart rate Monitors and other sensitive designs. Only four small value capacitors are needed in addition to a sound element. The use of small capacitors also makes this solution more reliable compared to an inductive solution using a heavy coil that can brake loose if the equipment is dropped.
MAS6240 can also be used in other applications. For example as a white LED driver. At the same time it can be connected to a piezo sounder in a differential output configuration.
