Nuvoton supports its customers in HMI & GUI development with a special offer. Customers have been able to use the emWin environment for development with Nuvoton’s ARM9-based MPUs or even Cortex-M MCUs for free for longer time.
Nuvoton now has extended the possibilities with the open source graphics library LVGL.
LVGL is a lightweight open-source graphics library. The microcontrollers (MCU) and microprocessors (MPU) of Nuvoton’s NuMicro HMI platform provide sufficient hardware resources to use LVGL’s dynamic effects to create a better user experience for the embedded GUI. LVGL’s features include animation, anti-aliasing, transparency, smooth scrolling and alpha blending on multiple layers. More on the capabilities of LVGL can be found on GitHub.
NuMicro’s HMI platform offers complete GUI solutions, including low-power, secure and high-performance Arm® Cortex®-M0, Cortex-M23 and Cortex-M4 MCUs and Arm9 MPU with large integrated DDR2 SDRAM to meet industrial control and advanced smart device requirements.
In addition, Nuvoton offers rich development resources and a complete ecosystem, including Non-OS, RTOS, Linux OS. Widely used IDEs such as Keil, IAR and Eclipse are supported. Suitable programming and debugging tools can also be found in Nuvoton’s range. The graphics library LVGL presented here, but also emWin and Qt, also help to reduce development time and costs.
The LVGL-certified board, NuMaker-HMI-N9H30 EVB, is based on the NuMicro N9H30 series microprocessor (MPU). The ARM926EJ-S core of the N9H30 series operates at up to 300 MHz and meets the requirements of the industry with an operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. N9H30 series is equipped with a large DDR2 SDRAM of up to 64 MB and features a 2D graphics accelerator and JPEG decoder to facilitate HMI applications.
The NuMaker-HMI-N9H30 EVB offers a wide range of peripherals and interfaces, including a 7″ 800×480 TFT LCD, two 10/100 Ethernet interfaces, one USB 2.0 high-speed host and USB 2.0 high-speed device, one CAN 2.0B interface, two RS-232, one RS-485, seven UARTs and external flash with 32 MB SPI-NOR and 128 MB NAND.
There is also a microphone input, a headphone output and an SD card slot.
We would be happy to guide you through the various possibilities of HMI and GUI development on Nuvoton’s MCUs and MPUs.
