MXM – Connectors 125B-78C00 and 125A-78C00 at a glance
MXM connectors are often used to connect compute modules to their base or main boards. Well-known standards for these modules are EDM (Embedded Design Module), Qseven, SMARC, Apalis or Colibri. Suppliers of these modules include Advantech, Kontron, TQ Systems and many others.
A difference is made between MXM2 and MXM3. MXM2 with 230 pins is used for Qseven modules. MXM3 offers 314 pins and is used for Apalis, SMARC and EDM modules.
With the 125B-78C00 (314 pin, datasheet) and 125A-78C00 (230 Pin, datasheet) connectors, Attend offers developers a decisive advantage: The connectors realize a mating height for the module of 5mm above the base board. This avoids the need for expensive cut-outs in the carrier boards.
They are suitable for industrial use between -40°C and +85°C and there is a choice of different surface coatings for the contacts. An overview can be found in the family datasheet.
In addition to the MXM connectors, Attend also offers the matching spacer nut and screws as accessories so that the modules can be securely fixed.
