Holtek CAN Bridge IC Family: The new series of CAN Bridge ICs HT42B216-1/316-1/416-1/536-1 extends the interface bridge product family in the CAN bus application area.

With the new CAN Bridge ICs, Holtek now offers an easy way to add a CAN interface to existing applications. For this purpose, a BOSCH CAN macro has been integrated which supports CAN 2.0 A/B according to ISO11898-1 protocol. Apart from a 16 MHz crystal and a 510 kOhm resistor to terminate the CAN bus clock, no other external components are required.

Holtek CAN Bridge IC Family HT42B – An overview

Each part of the HT42B CAN Bridge IC family supports a different host interface that is converted to CAN bus. All ICs are available in a 16-pin NSOP package and support an operating temperature range of -40 °C to +105 °C. The operating voltage is in the range of 3.0 V (or 3.3 V) to 5.5 V.

For the USB to CAN Bridge HT42B536-1 Holtek offers both a DLL and a USBCANBusTool for Windows to simplify host software development for customers. In addition, the IC is supported by standard Windows® drivers for Virtual COM Port (VCP): Windows XP (SP2), Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 (only an INF file is required), driver-free for Windows 10 and higher.
