Nuvoton Technology Corporation, a leading microcontroller provider, today announced its brand new NuMicro® M0564 series microcontrollers based on the Arm® Cortex®-M0 core, operating up to 72 MHz with 256 KB Flash and 20 KB SRAM. The M0564 series is pin to pin compatible with the M051 series and brings more competitive features to customers such as Voltage Adjustable Interface (VAI) for configurable serial interface connection, up to 144 MHz operating PWM for precision control, 20 channels of 12-bit ADC, and up to three sets of Universal Serial Control Interfaces (USCI) supporting flexible serial interfaces, targeted for industrial control, smart metering, and motor control.
The NuMicro® M0564 series provides an unique high-speed PWM with clock frequency up to 144 MHz for precision control, and an integrated hardware divider to speed up algorithm calculation. The large Flash of 256 KB, three sets of USCI and high noise immunity of 8kV ESD and 4kV EFT are ideal for the smart metering applications. The 12-bit ADC with up to 20 channels can be used to get the sensing data for use with the high-end circuit breaker that usually requires multiple ADC channels for voltage measurement. The M0564 series also supports VAI for specific I/O pins to support wide-range interface voltage from 1.8V to 5.5V for various operating voltages of external components to directly connect to the M0564 series without the need of extra level-shifters.
Apart from that, it also integrates the SPROM (Security Protection ROM), which provides a secure code execution area to protect the intellectual property of developers.
The NuMicro® M0564 series supports the wide voltage range from 2.5V to 5.5V and temperature from -40℃ to 105℃, up to 256 KB of Flash memory, 20 KB of SRAM as well as 4 KB of ISP (In-System Programming) ROM. It is also equipped with plenty of peripherals such as timers, watchdog timers, RTC,EBI, smart card interface, I²S, two sets of SPI, two sets of I²C, 5 channels of PDMA, three sets of USCI, three sets of UARTs, analog comparator, temperature sensor, LVR (Low Voltage Reset), BOD (Brown-out Detector), 96-bit UID (Unique Identification), and 128-bit UCID (Unique Customer Identification). The M0564 series is available in LQFP48, LQFP64 and LQFP100 packages.
Development Tool Support
Nuvoton offers multiple development tools to ease the product development. The NT‐M0564V tiny boards for the M0564 series support real-time, on‐board debugging. Nuvoton also provides other development tools, such as the Nu-Link/Nu-Link-Pro with advanced debugging functions, PinConfig for GPIO multi-function pin setting, PinView for real-time pin status display, BSP for device drivers and sample code. The development IDE supports the Keil MDK and IAR EWARM to debug, trace and analyze programs running on the target board.
Packaging and Availability
The M0564 series is available now with three different packages LQFP48, LQFP64, and LQFP100, and all the development tools are also available.
